Description

I regard HOUSE OF CARDS as a symbolist-problem-film, conceived with an organic imagery and stylization inherent in the theme. The story revolves around a central problem, namely the seeping through into the consciousness of an individual of the sordidness and vile miasma of the daily news headline. The protagonist, having lost his own identity, projects his personal existence into an incident which catapults him from a normal, everyday life into the realm of the sordid and macabre. -- Joseph Vogel
