Biography

Fu-Ding Cheng began his career as an architect and studied at both the University of Southern California and UC Berkeley. His surreal films draw upon shamanic practices and investigate the ways that film can approach transcendence. Fu-Ding also creates work in painting and new technologies and has directed a broad range of media including documentaries and music videos. During the late 1970s his films WHITE IN BAD LIGHT, ETHERO and FLIGHT OF IDEAS screened in retrospectives at Pasadena Filmforum. In 1990 he founded Liquid Light Productions in order to develop an artistic practice committed to cross-cultural understanding.
